The Mayor’s economic development company is enabling the city to accelerate the growth it has seen over the last decade, including establishing links with overseas markets. Ben gave a talk at the Open Eye Gallery back in March about China’s potential for companies who want to expand their reach and make the most of the country’s burgeoning economy.
As well as the historic links between Liverpool and Shanghai, Ben talked about the importance of thorough market research and clearly defined goals for businesses who want to trade successfully with China. He also stressed the importance of taking a long-view of China’s potential which is unlikely to deliver for companies who are only interested in short-term wins. It takes time and patience to build the right business relationships and Ben is looking forward to returning to Liverpool in the near future to see more of what the city has to offer.
